The Paul Fletcher Medal is awarded to an early career IET volunteer for outstanding achievement in contributing to the IET. Eng. Thilini Wasundara was honored with this medal in 2021 for her remarkable volunteer contributions to the IET.

In 2021, the IET Young Professional Sri Lanka Network, proudly received this prestigious award from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in the UK

Achievements

In the realm of engineering, where excellence is the benchmark, Thathsara Nanayakkara stands out as a shining example of determination and achievement. At the age of 30, he earned the distinguished title of the youngest IET Registered Chartered Engineer in Sri Lanka, marking a significant milestone in his already illustrious career. Thathsara embarked on his engineering journey at the General Sir John Kothelawala Defence University, where he pursued a 4-year Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Hons) degree, laying a strong foundation for his future endeavors.

Sanjeewika Rathnayake BSc(Hons) MIET is a finalist for the Paul Fletcher Award in 2023 for her outstanding contributions to the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in Sri Lanka. She began her journey as a volunteer for her Local Network (LN) in 2017 whilst at university. Her dedication and passion for engineering and technology led her to take on various roles, including assistant secretary and then secretary for the On Campus.
